The frame off restoration of this single owner 1970 Pontiac GTO in Atoll Blue Poly has been completed and is ready to be driven away for it’s next fifty years on the road.
The original numbers matching 400 cubic inch engine to the 1970 Pontiac GTO is now rebuilt and restored. The block has been painted back to the original Pontiac color of Pontiac Blue Metallic.
The 1970 Pontiac GTO didn’t need much rust repair but the tin worms had made it into the rear quarters and they had to go. New quarters will be fitted to bring them back to match the condition of the rest of the car.
The 1970 Pontiac GTO we just had come in is well preserved that the tank build sheet was still there an in perfect condition. This “goat” was built at General Motors Fremont Assembly and sent to Sumner Pontiac Company in Des Moines, Iowa.
This owner of this second generation GTO got this car brand new for her 17th birthday. She drove it for a few years until she got her first corvette and she parked it for the last 28 years. This car is very original and we hope we can keep many of the original parts.
